Fundación Real Betis Balompié presents its amputee football team
The Foundation of Real Betis is launching the ‘Nobody Offside’ project, a project co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus + programme, which is being implemented in partnership with the EFDN and other European teams such as Club Bruges & PSV.
The Real Betis Foundation presents its new amputee football team. This premiere is part of the Nobody Offside programme, a project co-financed by the European Union and launched by the EFDN (European Football Development Network) and other European teams such as Bruges.
Real Betis, a pioneer team in LaLiga in having a team for people with this disability, starts this project with 8 footballers who will wear the green and white shirt, but is looking for more amputees who want to join this team that will last for four seasons.
Each member of this new team of the Foundation has a story of overcoming and they say they feel very proud to play football representing Real Betis. They train every week at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol and will soon have their presentation to the Real Betis fans at the Estadio Benito Villamarín. This first team has been formed in collaboration with Flamencos Amputados Sur.

The team formed by amputees will compete at local and European level with Bruges and the European Amputee Federation, entities that are part of the Nobody Offside programme.
Nobody Offside seeks the social inclusion of this group, to encourage all those who are having a hard time and make them feel like sportsmen and women again. The final event of the project, the “Champions League and Nobody Offside Festival”, will bring together teams and players in a football party, giving them the opportunity to meet other European players and compete with them.
