Real Betis organizes the First Andalusian Cup for amputees
The Luis del Sol Sports City has hosted this weekend the first Andalusian Cup organised by Real Betis Balompié, through its foundation and the Flamencos Amputados Sur CD. The event that was held at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol.
The CD Flamencos Amputados Sur participated in the Andalusian Cup, which was divided into two teams that represented the cities of Seville and Malaga, and Real Betis Balompié.
The latter was the team that won this first competition for amputees and also is the pioneer club in LaLiga to have a team for people with this disability. Real Betis Balompié will compete at a local and european level with the European Federation of Amputees, that is part of the Nobody Offside program.
This competition is part of the ‘Nobody Offside’ project, a programme co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus + programme. Thanks to this project, last November the Foundation created the Real Betis football team made up of amputees.
The Real Betis Balompié Foundation already has two more football teams: Real Betis Genuine, formed by people with intellectual disabilities, and Real Betis Walking Football, a team of people over 50 years old who play football walking.
